Dear readers and readers, I know I look much younger (I am self-patting my back) but this year I reach the psychological barrier of 40 yearsWill I get the famous crisis that everyone refers to? Well, the thing is complicated because I have not yet created a family of my own and it is not within my reach to hit the table, divorce and leave with one of 20. Although perhaps that of the 20 could be looked at.

Jokes aside, reaching 40 is nothing from the other world. It's just a number and it all depends on how you get there. If you have health - fundamental -, you feel young and energetic and you are surrounded by good people who love you… .As if they are 60 !, you will be fine. But nevertheless, It is a good excuse to organize a great party with your friends. That is why it is worth admitting that you are four decades old.

I am lucky to have a large group of lifelong friends in Alicante, my hometown and where I currently live. Having been born almost all in 76, the option of celebrating 15 40th birthday parties was totally unfeasible, for the cost of the divorces that it would entail. That is why we have decided to make a weekend trip together, looking for the most absolute spread.

Since we decided we are looking for destinations and for now these are what I have suggested, always considering that my friends are not exactly great travelers and the closer, the better:

Granada, Spain

Many of my friends think: Why go outside if we are in the best country in Europe to party?. And the truth is that they have a certain reason.

Pomegranate It offers everything you can ask for a weekend party with your friends. Rich gastronomy, prices more than affordable, great offer of accommodation, beautiful and friendly people, endless party and with the bonus of a monumental beauty from which to try to enjoy during those strange loose hours in which sobriety takes over the group of halters.

In addition, in our case, we have the city about three hours away by car. As much as I turn to other options, Granada continues to occupy the highest drawer of the podium. The only drawback is that we have already gone many times to make bachelor parties and it is a destination that we have seen very much. Likewise, as my wise Uruguayan friend says, Mr. Charru: "winning team does not touch".

Dublin, Ireland
